Studio hours are Mon - Fri, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time except holidays. Phone calls and emails will be responded to by the next business day.

Fitting

Please review the measuring chart on the website to ensure proper measuring, or call us to help you through the process, as our technique may be different than what you are used to.  Please do not add or subtract to your measurements.  If you would like the costume to fit slightly big to allow for some normal growth, please tell us and let us add to the measurements.  We guarantee fit on all new costumes if someone from the Captiva Designs staff measures your child.  If alterations are required to be made by Captiva Designs, shipping charges are the customers' responsibility. All fitting issuses must be addressed within 10 days of receiving your costume.  Charges for alterations apply in most circumstances, unless measurements were taken by a Captiva Designs Staff member. We guarantee you will be pleased with your finished product.


Deposit

A minimum deposit of 50% of the total price of your costume is needed to begin an order. Balance must be paid in full before completed costume is shipped.  Captiva Designs accepts VISA and  MasterCard, Personal checks and money orders. If a personal check is sent,  costume will not be shipped until your check clears the bank. Deposits are nonrefundable. Refunds will be given with store credit only.


Returns

All returns on custom costumes are subject to a $50.00 restocking fee.  Refunds will be given as store credit only. Costumes that have been worn other than to try on for size are non-returnable.  Pre-Owned costumes are non-returnable.


Custom Designs

If you have a special design in mind that is not on our website, you can send us your rough sketch with design details along with color/fabric preferences. If you desire to have an original design drawn especially for you, please allow a minimum of two weeks for the design to be created. Design time for the originality of the costume will be reflected in the price.


Group Orders

A group order consists of four costumes or more ordered at the same time. Orders must be placed by one contact person who will be responsible for sending all measurements at one time. The contact person will be responsible for all design issues, single deposit, and single balance payment. Changes or add on items will be considered a new order and will be given a new delivery date. Our designers will be glad to assist you in choosing your unique group design. Please place a name on each person's measurements. All group costumes will be shipped together to one location.


Delivery Time/Rush Service

Allow approximately 6 weeks for orders to be completed and shipped. If an order is needed in less than 6 weeks, an additional $50.00 fee is required. Rush service is not always available.


Liquid Sequin

Liquid Sequin fabric is beautiful, but extremely fragile and is not by any means guaranteed by Captiva Designs. We will be happy to include samples of all colors of liquid sequin used in your costume for repairs.


Adjustments upon arrival of your costume

There will be certain adjustments that you will need to make upon receiving your costume to ensure a perfect fit. The leg elastic should be pulled to where comfortable for you, and the ends stitched in place.  Spaghetti straps and halter tops should be tacked in place, or use the provided hooks & eyes, where comfortable for you.  We understand that everyone is different and some need to feel more secure than others.  Therefore, we’ve left extra room for straps and elastic.  Be sure to leave a little length in both areas to let out as you grow.
